Post Publication Discussion Policy
BALANCE: Jurnal Akuntansi dan Bisnis encourages constructive scholarly discussion and critical engagement with articles published in the journal. Post-publication discussion provides an opportunity for readers, researchers, and members of the academic community to express scholarly comments, raise questions, identify potential errors, and discuss the findings, methods, or interpretations presented in published articles.
1. Submission of Comments and Concerns
Readers who wish to comment on a published article or raise concerns regarding its content may contact the editorial office of BALANCE: Jurnal Akuntansi dan Bisnis through the official communication channels provided on the journal website. Submissions should clearly identify the article concerned, explain the nature of the comment or concern, and provide relevant evidence or references where appropriate.
Comments should be scholarly, constructive, factual, and respectful. Personal attacks, defamatory statements, discriminatory language, and comments unrelated to the academic content of the article will not be considered for publication.
2. Editorial Assessment
All post-publication comments and concerns will be assessed by the editorial team to determine their relevance, academic value, factual basis, and compliance with the journal's publication ethics standards. Where necessary, the editorial team may consult independent experts or request additional information from the individuals involved.
The journal may invite the original authors to respond to substantive comments or criticisms concerning their published work. Authors will be given a reasonable opportunity to provide a response, and any response intended for publication will be subject to editorial assessment.
3. Publication of Discussions and Responses
When considered appropriate, the journal may publish accepted comments, scholarly letters, or responses through its website or another suitable publication format. Published discussions and responses must meet the journal's standards for academic relevance, accuracy, clarity, and professional conduct.
The editorial team reserves the right to edit submissions for clarity, length, and compliance with editorial policies, without changing their intended academic meaning. Any substantive editorial changes will be handled transparently and, where appropriate, communicated to the contributor.
4. Handling of Post-Publication Concerns
If a post-publication comment identifies a potential error, ethical concern, or issue that may affect the reliability or integrity of a published article, the journal will assess the matter in accordance with its relevant publication ethics policies.
Depending on the nature and seriousness of the concern and the available evidence, the journal may request clarification from the authors, consult relevant institutions or independent experts, publish a correction or an expression of concern, or retract the article when justified. All decisions will be made fairly, impartially, and in accordance with relevant publication ethics guidance.
5. Transparency and Editorial Independence
BALANCE: Jurnal Akuntansi dan Bisnis is committed to ensuring that post-publication discussions are conducted transparently, fairly, and respectfully. Editorial decisions regarding comments, responses, corrections, and other post-publication actions will be based on academic merit, the available evidence, and publication ethics considerations rather than personal, institutional, or commercial interests.
The journal follows relevant guidance and best practices from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in addressing post-publication discussions and concerns. The purpose of this policy is to promote continuous scholarly dialogue, support the correction of the scientific record when necessary, and maintain public trust in published research.
