Drug abuse has become a serious problem that affects not only urban areas but has also spread to rural communities, posing a significant threat to younger generations. Limited legal literacy and low public awareness in rural areas contribute to the increasing risk of drug abuse. This community service activity aims to enhance legal awareness and understanding among the residents of Lebuh Rarak Village, Pedamaran District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province, regarding drug abuse prevention through a participatory counseling approach. The method employed consisted of legal and health counseling involving active participant engagement through discussions and question-and-answer sessions. The speakers were lecturers from the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Medicine, while the target participants included housewives, adult community members, students, mosque youth groups, youth organization members, and village officials. The results indicate an improvement in community understanding of the dangers of drug abuse, legal consequences under Law Number 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, as well as the health and moral impacts of drug abuse. This activity contributes to strengthening collective awareness and encouraging active community participation in community-based drug abuse prevention efforts.
