Abstract

This study aims to describe the condition of household environmental sanitation in the coastal area of Desa Simpang Tiga, Kecamatan Tulung Selapan, Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir. The study used a descriptive design with 50 household heads as respondents. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and direct observation of household sanitation conditions. The results showed that environmental sanitation conditions have not yet met optimal health standards. Some households still rely on unsafe water sources, the availability of healthy latrines remains limited, and most domestic wastewater and solid waste are not managed according to proper sanitation standards. The practice of discharging waste directly into the environment and inadequate waste management increases the risk of environmental pollution and environment-related diseases. In conclusion, the basic sanitation conditions of coastal communities remain inadequate and require improvement through the provision of proper sanitation facilities, increased environmental health education, and sustainable sanitation programs to enhance community health quality
