Abstract

The Taman Budaya Lampung complex faces challenges in the suboptimal utilization of open space, which has a significant impact on the implementation of arts and cultural activities. This research aims to evaluate the application of open space elements and formulate strategies to improve their utilization. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research relied on observations, interviews, and documentation. The results show that elements such as park benches and public lighting are still suboptimal, with around 20% of the total area equipped with adequate benches and insufficient lighting to create a safe atmosphere at night. Major constraints include the lack of supporting elements and limited accessibility, which only reaches 50% of the total planned area. However, there is great potential to develop the open space for recreation, education, and social interaction. A well-managed open space can be a comfortable place for the community to gather and enjoy various art events. This research is expected to make a significant contribution to open space management that supports quality of life and strengthens cultural diversity in the area for future generations in a more sustainable way.
