Abstract

This study aims to design a modern campus for the Syuhratul Islam Islamic Boarding School in Gelumbang that meets building reliability standards (health, safety, accessibility, and comfort). The research methodology includes field surveys of existing conditions and literature review on Islamic boarding school design standards, encompassing analysis of student needs and healthy building principles. The result is a proposed master plan and building designs presented descriptively and graphically. The proposed design provides complete educational facilities (such as a library and laboratories) and applies healthy building principles (natural lighting and ventilation), is safe according to regulations, and offers comfort for occupants. The scientific contribution of this research is to offer guidance for designing modern Islamic boarding schools based on contemporary needs using an architectural approach that fulfills healthy, safe, and comfortable building criteria.
