Abstract

The Lampung Cultural Park Complex faces significant challenges in the maintenance of buildings that are not optimal, affecting the implementation of arts and cultural activities in the area. This study aims to see how the application of the neo-vernacular concept to the building and formulate the right strategy to improve its utilization for the common good. Using a qualitative approach, this study relies on observation, interviews, and documentation to gather information and understand the conditions and needs related to the existing cultural park building. The results of the study indicate that the application of the neo-vernacular concept to the Cultural Park building is still not optimal, with the main challenges being the lack of supporting elements and limited accessibility. However, there is great potential to develop the comfort and beauty of the building form as a means of recreation, education, and social interaction for the community. A well-managed building can be a comfortable place for the community to gather, do activities, and enjoy various arts events. This research is expected to contribute to the application of a better neo-vernacular concept, support the quality of life, and enrich cultural diversity and provide a typical Lampung building identity in the Lampung Cultural Park area for future generations that are more sustainable.
