Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

iLEAD Journal Reviewer Guidelines

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for your willingness to review manuscripts for the iLEAD Journal. Peer review is an important academic responsibility that helps maintain the quality and integrity of scholarly publications. Your feedback helps authors improve their work and supports the development of research in language, education, assessment, and development.


1. Purpose of the Peer Review

The purpose of peer review is to:

  • Evaluate the quality, originality, and relevance of the manuscript.

  • Help editors decide whether the manuscript should be published.

  • Provide constructive feedback to help authors improve their work.

Reviewers are expected to provide fair, objective, and professional evaluations.


2. Reviewer Recommendations

After reviewing the manuscript, please recommend one of the following decisions:

  • Accept Submission – The manuscript can be published with no changes.

  • Minor Revisions – Small improvements are required before publication.

  • Major Revisions / Resubmit – Significant revisions are required before the manuscript can be reconsidered.

  • Reject Submission – The manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal.

Your recommendation should be supported with clear explanations.


3. What Reviewers Should Evaluate

When reviewing a manuscript, please consider:

  • Relevance – Is the topic appropriate for the iLEAD Journal?

  • Originality – Does the study provide new knowledge or insights?

  • Methodology – Is the research design appropriate and clearly explained?

  • Analysis and Discussion – Are the findings clearly presented and well interpreted?

  • Structure and Clarity – Is the paper well organized and easy to understand?

  • Contribution – Does the manuscript contribute to the field of education or language studies?


4. Writing the Review

Your review should normally include:

  1. Brief summary of the manuscript

  2. Strengths of the manuscript

  3. Major issues or concerns

  4. Minor comments or suggestions

  5. Recommendations for improvement

Comments should be clear, constructive, and helpful for the authors.


5. Confidentiality and Ethics

Reviewers must:

  • Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.

  • Not share or use any information from the manuscript for personal benefit.

  • Inform the editor if there is a conflict of interest.

  • Provide an objective and unbiased review.


6. Tone of the Review

Reviews should always be:

  • Respectful

  • Professional

  • Constructive

  • Supportive

Even when recommending rejection, reviewers should provide feedback that may help the authors improve their work.


7. Unable to Complete the Review

If you are unable to complete the review, please inform the editor as soon as possible so another reviewer can be assigned.
