Abstract

Organic waste is waste that contains high water content and decomposes quickly. The accumulation of organic waste can pollute the environment and cause disease outbreaks. The Sejangko II Village community faces challenges in managing organic waste, primarily due to a lack of knowledge about effective management techniques. To address this problem, this community service program aims to empower the community through outreach and training in the production of liquid organic fertilizer from organic waste. The subjects of this activity were the residents of Sejangko II Village, who were selected based on the need for knowledge and skills in organic waste management. The activity methods included outreach, practical training, and live demonstrations. The results of this activity showed that the residents and farmers of Sejangko II Village were very enthusiastic about producing this liquid organic fertilizer because the price of chemical fertilizers continues to rise and is difficult to obtain. This activity demonstrated that the community is able to process organic waste into fertilizer that can be applied to their agricultural land, which has the potential to improve soil pH quality and reduce environmental pollution. This activity also has the potential to reduce the community's dependence on chemical fertilizers and support environmental sustainability.
