The waiting area in a hospital is a very important space in shaping the emotional experience of patients and visitors. One strategy to increase comfort and reduce anxiety levels in the waiting room is to apply biophilic elements, especially the direct experience of nature element that connects users of the space directly with natural elements. This study aims to analyze the application of biophilic elements of direct experience of nature in the waiting area of Sakinah Hospital in Mojokerto. The method used is descriptive qualitative with direct observation techniques, visual documentation, and interviews with users of the waiting room. The focus of the analysis includes the presence of natural light, water, living vegetation, views of nature, natural air circulation, and changes in temperature and natural wind. The findings of this study confirm that the application of biophilic elements does not have to rely on high technology, but rather requires a design approach that is open, contextual, and in harmony with the local environment. The results of the study are expected to provide an overview of the implementation of biophilic elements in hospital waiting rooms and become a reference in designing public spaces based on natural experiences.
