Reviewer Guidelines
Reviewers play a vital role in ensuring the quality and academic integrity of articles published in Lingkasa (Linguistik dan Bahasa – Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris). The journal uses a double-blind peer review process, meaning both the author and reviewer identities are kept anonymous.
We ask reviewers to follow the guidelines below:
1. General Responsibilities

Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.

Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript.

Declare any conflict of interest that may affect your review.

Do not share, distribute, or use the manuscript content for personal benefit.
2. Review Criteria
Reviewers are expected to assess the manuscript based on the following aspects:
a. Title & Abstract

Is the title clear, concise, and relevant?

Does the abstract summarize the key points effectively?
b. Originality & Relevance

Does the manuscript present original and significant contributions to the field?

Is the topic relevant to the scope of Lingkasa (English language teaching, linguistics, applied linguistics, etc.)?
c. Literature Review

Is the literature review current, relevant, and adequate?

Does it clearly identify gaps or establish a research context?
d. Research Design / Methodology

Is the method clearly described and appropriate for the study?

Are the data collection and analysis methods valid?
e. Findings and Discussion

Are the findings presented clearly and logically?

Does the discussion relate to previous research and theoretical frameworks?
f. Language and Style

Is the manuscript written in clear, academic language?

Are there issues with grammar, punctuation, or structure?
g. References

Are the sources relevant and mostly from recent, peer-reviewed publications?

Are citations and references formatted correctly (APA 7th edition)?
3. Review Recommendation Options
You will be asked to choose one of the following:

Accept (no or minimal revision)
-
Minor Revision (requires small changes before acceptance)
-
Major Revision (requires significant improvements and re-evaluation)
-
Reject (unsuitable for publication)
Please provide detailed comments to support your decision. You may also upload a marked version of the manuscript (with track changes) if needed.
4. Timeline

Reviews should be completed within 2–4 weeks of acceptance.

If more time is needed, please contact the editorial team promptly.
5. Reviewer Recognition

Reviewers’ contributions are appreciated and may be acknowledged (with consent).

Lingkasa may also issue a Reviewer Certificate upon request.
