Abstract

Indonesia, as a country consisting of many islands with rich and varied natural resources, offers enormous tourism potential, including cultural tourism, marine tourism and agrotourism spread across various regions throughout the archipelago. The city of Pagar Alam in South Sumatra, located in a highland area surrounded by mountains with Mount Dempo as the background, has a strong tourist attraction thanks to its natural beauty, such as rivers, hills and waterfalls. Although the city's tourism potential is well known, there are still opportunities for further development with improved facilities. With the significant growth of the tourism sector, there is a need to improve the quality of facilities that support the tourism experience. This research aims to design a resort hotel with a landscape architecture theme in Pagar Alam, which is expected to not only strengthen the city's attractiveness as a tourist destination but also contribute positively to the local economy by increasing the number of tourist visits and infrastructure development. The resort design will consider natural potential, market demand and sustainability aspects to create a unique, high-quality and competitive tourist destination in the global market.
