Indonesia is well known as an archipelagic country rich in tourism potential, especially in its coastal areas that offer captivating natural landscapes. One such area is Tikus Beach in Bangka Island. Despite its scenic beauty and historical value, this destination has experienced a decline in tourist interest, as reflected in low hotel occupancy rates. This study aims to design a three-star resort hotel using a neo-vernacular architectural approach as a strategy to revitalize the destination. This approach not only reintroduces local cultural values through building forms and materials, but also addresses the needs of modern travelers who seek comfort, uniqueness, and a connection to nature. The design process includes site analysis, local architectural studies, user needs assessment, and conceptual design exploration based on tropical context. The resulting resort is designed to harmonize with the surrounding environment, emphasizing natural ventilation, the use of local materials, and open social spaces. This project is expected to make a meaningful contribution to sustainable tourism development in Bangka, while also serving as a harmonious representation of tradition and innovation in contemporary architectural practice.
