Membangun Desa Tanjung Laut KKN Berbasis Reboisasi Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA
Abstract
The Community Service Program (KKN) on reforestation in Tanjung Laut Vilage was implemented to addres the low public awareness of environmental conservation, the lack of structured greening programs,, and limited acces to tree seedlings. The main objective of this activity was to create new green space while increasing active community participation in environmental preservation. The method applied was Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), which engaged the community directly from problem identification, planning, implementation, to evaluation. The program consisted of three stages: planning (proposal preparation and seedling request submission), preparation (seedling collection, coordination with local authorities, and selection of planting sites), and implementation (socialization of reforestation benefits, planting activites at SDN 15 Tanjung Batu, residents’ yards, fishpond areas, and along village roads, as well as seedling distribution to the community). The results showed that a total of 450 seedlings were successfully planted, consisting of durian, soursop, avocado, and glodokan trees, with a growth succes rate of approximately 90%. The positive impacts include improved air quality, creation of greener and more comfortable environments, and increased community awareness and engagement in greening efforts. In conclusion, the community-based reforestation program proved effective as an initial step toward realizing a greener and more sustainable village, althought the continuity of the program still relies on consistent maintenance by the local community
