Peer Review

All research articles submitted to Differential: Journal on Mathematics Education undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their conformity with the journal’s focus and scope, author guidelines, research integrity requirements, and minimum scholarly quality.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are reviewed by using a double-anonymous peer-review process. The identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers, and the identities of the reviewers are concealed from the authors.

Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the subject of the manuscript. Reviewers must not be members of the journal’s editorial team and must not have personal, professional, institutional, or financial conflicts of interest with the authors or the research being evaluated.

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the relevance of the topic, originality and novelty, clarity of the research objectives, appropriateness of the methodology, accuracy of the analysis, quality of the results and discussion, validity of the conclusions, contribution to mathematics education, and adequacy of the references.

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial decision may be:

1. Accept submission;
2. Revisions required;
3. Resubmit for review; or
4. Decline submission.

Revised manuscripts may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation. The final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief or the assigned editor based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the journal’s editorial policies.

The journal does not guarantee acceptance of any submission. All editorial decisions are based on the scholarly merit of the manuscript and are not influenced by the authors’ nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, religious belief, political view, or ability to pay publication fees.

Manuscripts submitted by editors, editorial board members, reviewers, or authors affiliated with the publisher are handled independently. The author concerned is excluded from the review and decision-making process. Another editor without a conflict of interest manages the manuscript, and at least two external and independent reviewers conduct the peer review. The journal does not give preferential treatment to submissions based on an author’s relationship with the journal or publisher.
