Correction and Retraction Policy
'ASABIYAH: Jurnal Pengabdian Hukum is committed to preserving the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the permanent scholarly record. The journal recognizes that errors may occasionally occur after publication, ranging from minor typographical mistakes to major ethical breaches or factual inaccuracies. To address these issues transparently, the journal enforces a clear Correction and Retraction Policy operating strictly in accordance with the guidelines and flowcharts established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
When minor errors or omissions are identified that do not affect the fundamental legal analysis, empirical findings, or overall conclusions of a published paper, the journal will issue a formal Correction Notice. Errors introduced by the authors during manuscript preparation or revision will be addressed through a Corrigendum, whereas errors introduced during editorial production or layout editing will be corrected via an Erratum. In both cases, a separate formal notice detailing the specific changes will be published in the current issue and bi-directionally linked to the original article, ensuring full transparency without silently modifying the published record.
In cases where severe scientific errors, data fabrication, falsification, extensive plagiarism, duplicate publication, or serious ethical violations compromise the fundamental validity and trustworthiness of a published work, the Editor-in-Chief will initiate a formal retraction process. A formal Retraction Notice will be published under the same title as the original article, clearly stating who is retracting the paper and detailing the specific grounds for retraction to inform the academic community. The retraction notice will be assigned its own persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and indexed in global databases to maintain bibliographic traceability.
To preserve the historical record of academic literature, the original published article will not be completely removed from the journal portal or digital archives. Instead, the original PDF file will remain accessible, but it will be prominently watermarked on every page as "RETRACTED" to prevent further citation or reliance on its findings. Complete article removal is reserved exclusively for extraordinary legal circumstances, such as court orders, severe defamatory content, or situations where continued hosting poses an immediate risk to public health or personal safety.
All reports regarding potential errors, inaccuracies, or misconduct in published papers are thoroughly investigated by the Editorial Board with due process, granting authors the opportunity to respond to concerns before a final decision is reached. Authors, readers, or institutional representatives who identify significant errors or ethical issues in a published manuscript are encouraged to contact the Managing Editor promptly to initiate an official review.
