Management Reference

'ASABIYAH: Jurnal Pengabdian Hukum requires all authors to maintain high standards of citation accuracy, completeness, and bibliographic integrity. Proper reference management ensures that legal sources, scholarly literature, and field data are transparently acknowledged and easily traceable by reviewers and readers.

1. Citation Style

Authors must strictly format all in-text citations and reference entries according to the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition citation style (or the Chicago Manual of Style Footnote System, depending on the journal's primary template specification). Consistency in applying the chosen citation style throughout the manuscript is mandatory.

2. Use of Reference Management Tools

To avoid bibliographic errors, missing citations, or formatting discrepancies, authors are strongly encouraged to use dedicated reference management software during manuscript preparation. Recommended tools include:

  • Mendeley

  • Zotero

  • EndNote

3. Source Quality and Currency

Authors should prioritize high-quality, peer-reviewed, and primary sources to support their legal analysis and community service framework:

  • Primary Literature: A minimum of 80% of the references should consist of primary sources, including peer-reviewed journal articles, legal statutes, court rulings, official government regulations, and authoritative policy reports.

  • Recency: At least 80% of the cited journal articles and secondary literature should be published within the last 5 to 10 years to reflect current legal developments and recent socio-legal scholarship.

4. Inclusion of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs)

Authors must provide active Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for all referenced journal articles, conference proceedings, and digital reports whenever a DOI is available. DOIs should be formatted as complete, clickable URLs (e.g., [https://doi.org/10.xxxx/xxxxx](https://doi.org/10.xxxx/xxxxx)).

5. Self-Citation and Citation Manipulation

  • Self-Citation Limit: Excessive or unnecessary self-citation by authors is discouraged. Self-citations should only be included when directly relevant to the project's background or methodology and should generally not exceed 10% of the total reference list.

  • Citation Manipulation: Authors must not include irrelevant citations simply to artificially inflate citation metrics for specific journals or individuals. Any detected citation manipulation will be treated as academic misconduct.
