Ethic Statement
'ASABIYAH: Jurnal Pengabdian Hukum is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and research integrity. All parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher-must adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Statement of Originality and Plagiarism
All submitted manuscripts must represent entirely original work. Plagiarism in any form—including direct copying, paraphrasing without proper citation, or self-plagiarism—is strictly prohibited and constitutes serious academic misconduct. Submitted manuscripts will be screened using text-matching software (such as Turnitin) upon receipt. Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity index will be rejected immediately.
2. Human Participants and Ethical Approval
Since 'ASABIYAH publishes community service and legal outreach initiatives, projects involving human participants (such as field surveys, legal counseling sessions, workshops, or focus group discussions) must strictly comply with ethical standards:
-
Informed Consent: Authors must ensure and confirm that voluntary informed consent was obtained from all participants prior to conducting activities.
-
Protection of Vulnerable Groups: Special ethical considerations and protection must be accorded to vulnerable populations, including minors, crime victims, and disadvantaged communities.
-
Privacy and Confidentiality: The privacy and identity of individual participants must be protected. Personal identifiers must be anonymized unless explicit written permission has been granted.
3. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, Large Language Models (LLMs), or AI-assisted technologies (such as ChatGPT) do not meet the criteria for authorship. AI tools cannot take ethical or legal responsibility for the accuracy, originality, or integrity of the research. If AI tools were utilized in the writing, translation, or data processing stages, authors must explicitly disclose their use in the Methodology or Acknowledgments section.
4. Conflict of Interest Disclosure
All authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any potential financial, personal, professional, or institutional conflicts of interest that could inappropriately influence or bias their judgment, evaluation, or the outcomes of the manuscript. Funding sources supporting the community outreach program must be fully declared in the paper.
5. Handling Misconduct and Corrections
If allegations of research or publication misconduct (such as data fabrication, falsification, authorship disputes, or plagiarism) arise before or after publication, the Editor-in-Chief will conduct an investigation following COPE flowcharts. Confirmed misconduct will lead to manuscript rejection, formal retraction of published work, or notification of the authors' home institutions where appropriate.
