Penguatan Kesadaran Hukum dan Kesehatan Mental sebagai Upaya Pencegahan Bullying di Lingkungan Sekolah SMKN 5 SIK Jayapura

Abstract

The phenomenon of bullying in the school environments represents an increasingly complex social issue that demands serious attention from multiple stakeholders, including educational institutions, families, and society. Empirical evidence indicates that bullying exerts significant negative effects on studentn’s academic performance and psychological well-being. Accordingly, effective prevention strategies require a comprehensive and integrated approach that encompasses both legal and psychological dimensions. This community service program aims to enhance student’s understanding and awareness of bullying prevention through an integrated framework combining legal awareness and mental health perspectives. It also seeks to promote student’s active participation in fostering a safe, inclusive, and bullying-free school environment. The program was implemented through interactive and communicative outreach methods, followed by group discussions and case study analyses grounded in student’s daily experiences. These activities were further reinforced by simulation and role-play sessions to strengthen practical understanding and behavioral responses. The results demonstrate a high level of student engagement and a greater openness to critically understanding bullying issues. Student’s showed improved capacity to recognize victim’s perspectives and the importance of cultivating a safe and inclusive social environment. Furthermore, simulation and role-play methods proved effective in enhancing student’s social skills, communication competencies, and awareness of peaceful and just conflict resolution. Evaluation results, based on pre-test and post-test comparisons, reveal a significant improvement in student’s understanding of bullying, legal awareness, and mental health.
