Editorial Policy

Didaktika Biologi: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Biologi is committed to maintaining high standards of academic quality, integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing practices. The journal publishes original research articles and scholarly contributions in the field of biology education and related areas.

1. Editorial Responsibility

The editorial team is responsible for managing the publication process, maintaining the journal's academic standards, and ensuring that all manuscripts are handled fairly, objectively, and professionally.

The Editor-in-Chief oversees the overall editorial process and coordinates editorial activities. Section Editors are responsible for managing manuscripts within their assigned areas of expertise, including the initial assessment, reviewer selection, and editorial recommendations.

2. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript's originality, scientific quality, relevance to the journal's focus and scope, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the development of knowledge in biology education.

Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by the authors' institutional affiliations, academic positions, nationality, gender, personal relationships, or other non-academic considerations.

3. Initial Manuscript Assessment

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal.

The assessment considers:

  • Relevance to the journal's focus and scope.
  • Compliance with the journal's submission guidelines.
  • Originality and contribution to the field.
  • Research methodology and scientific rigor.
  • Completeness of the manuscript and required declarations.
  • Compliance with publication ethics requirements.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements or fall outside its scope may be rejected without external peer review.

4. Peer Review and Editorial Decision

Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are processed through the journal's peer-review system. Reviewers are selected based on their academic expertise and relevant research experience.

The final publication decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief or an authorized editor, taking into consideration the reviewers' comments, the manuscript's academic quality, and its compliance with the journal's editorial standards.

Further details are provided in the journal's Peer Review Policy.

5. Conflict of Interest in Editorial Handling

Editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could compromise their impartiality in handling a manuscript.

An editor who has a personal, professional, institutional, or financial relationship with an author or the research presented must not participate in the editorial decision-making process for that manuscript. The manuscript will be reassigned to an independent editor.

6. Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and related communications.

Manuscripts and unpublished information must not be disclosed to unauthorized individuals or used for personal research or professional advantage.

7. Editorial Corrections and Post-Publication Actions

The journal is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of its published content. When significant errors, ethical concerns, or research misconduct are identified, the editorial team will take appropriate action in accordance with established publication ethics standards.

Such actions may include corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, depending on the nature and severity of the issue.

8. Continuous Editorial Improvement

The editorial team periodically evaluates and improves its editorial procedures to maintain publication quality, transparency, and alignment with recognized standards of scholarly publishing.

All editorial policies are applied consistently to ensure the credibility and integrity of the journal.
